ISO module terms

Version 1, published 23 Oct 2026, in effect from 15 Dec 2026

The short version

  • The ISO module helps you get ready for an ISO audit and keep your records in order. It does not certify you. Only a certification body can do that.
  • We do not copy ISO's own text into KimonComply. You need your own copy of each standard you work to.
  • If your organisation was using KimonComply before modules began, the ISO standards you had switched on when we made this change stay free for good.

What the ISO module gives you

The ISO module is where your organisation works towards its ISO standards, such as ISO 9001 for quality and ISO 14001 for the environment. For each standard you switch on, it gives you:

  • each clause, explained in plain words, and how well your records cover it
  • your documents, with every version kept and every approval recorded
  • internal audits, planned and run the way ISO 19011 describes, with their findings and the actions that put them right
  • the registers an auditor asks to see
  • a readiness score that shows how close you are to being ready for an audit
  • audit-ready packs to download, and read-only links you can send to an auditor

When the module is on, all of it is on.

The trial

An admin of your organisation can start a free trial of the ISO module without giving card details. How long the trial lasts is shown in KimonComply when it starts, with a countdown of the time left, and we email your admins before it ends.

If the trial ends without payment, the module becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted. You can still read your records and download them. You cannot add to them or change them until your organisation pays for the module.

Getting ready is not the same as being certified

The readiness score, the clause coverage and the audit-ready packs help your organisation prepare for an audit and show what it has done. They are not certification. KimonComply does not certify you, and nothing in it is a certificate. Only a certification body can certify your organisation, after its own audit.

We cannot promise that you will pass an audit, because that depends on what your organisation does. A good readiness score does not mean you will pass.

ISO's own text

The ISO standards are published by ISO, and their text belongs to ISO and the national standards bodies that sell them. We do not copy ISO's own text into KimonComply. That includes the sentences that say what an organisation must do, and the notes and annexes. Each clause is shown by its number and its heading, with our own plain explanation of what it asks for and what an auditor will want to see.

You need your own copy of each standard you work to. You can buy one from ISO, or from BSI, the national standards body in the United Kingdom.

Organisations that were here before modules

If your organisation was using KimonComply before modules began, the ISO standards you had switched on when we made this change stay free for good. Each one stays free when you move it to a newer edition of the same standard.

A standard your organisation adds after that is charged at the normal price, as our pricing page sets out.

Paying for the ISO module

The ISO module is charged for each ISO standard your organisation runs, and a standard counts once even while you work to two editions of it side by side. The price is on our pricing page. Every price we show is before VAT.

Paying, VAT, cancelling and what happens if a payment fails work the same way for every module, and our platform terms set them out.

How these terms fit with the platform terms

These terms sit alongside our platform terms, which cover your account, paying, your records and our responsibility to you. An admin of your organisation accepts these terms in KimonComply before the ISO module starts.

Where these terms and the platform terms say different things about the ISO module, these terms apply. Each change to these terms is a new version of this page, with its own version number and dates at the top, and an admin is asked to accept it before work in the module continues.
