What KimonComply does not do
Last updated 23 Oct 2026
The short version
- KimonComply helps you keep your records in order and ready to show. It does not certify you, and it does not give legal advice.
- With the property module, the landlord stays legally responsible. The compliance officer does the chasing and the paperwork, and the decisions stay with you.
- Some limits are permanent and some are only for now. This page keeps the two apart, and says what to do instead each time.
ISO standards: what we will never do
- We do not certify you. A certification body does that. KimonComply helps you get ready for its audit and holds what its auditor will ask to see.
- We cannot promise you will pass an audit. That depends on what your organisation actually does. KimonComply makes sure what you have done is written down, in order and ready to show.
- We do not give legal advice. The guidance in KimonComply explains each standard in plain words. If you need to know what the law asks of your organisation, ask a solicitor or another qualified adviser.
- We do not write your management system for you. KimonComply gives you templates and plain-English guidance so your own people can write it, and it keeps every version once they have.
ISO standards: what we do not do yet
- We cover ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 only. If you hold another standard as well, keep tracking it the way you do today, and use KimonComply for your 9001 and 14001 work.
Property compliance: what we will never do
The property module is for homes let in England, and it is available from 15 December 2026.
- We do not visit or inspect your properties. A qualified contractor carries out each inspection and issues the certificate. The compliance officer arranges or chases it, and checks the certificate when it arrives.
- We never pay contractors, and we do not hold accounts with them. Contractors are booked in your name and on your account, and you pay them directly, as you do today.
- We do not give legal advice, and we do not take on your legal responsibility. The landlord stays responsible for the property. For advice on what the law asks of you, ask a solicitor or your landlord or letting agent trade body.
- We do not make decisions for you. The compliance officer works within the standing instructions you set, and anything else waits until you approve it in KimonComply.
- We do not start the government registration for you. The law says the landlord must. The compliance officer gets the register pack ready, so everything is to hand when you do.
- We do not handle complaints. Complaints go through your own arrangements. For a letting agent, that means its redress scheme.
- We do not collect rent or keep your accounts, and we do not handle Making Tax Digital. Keep using your accountant, or your rent and accounts software, for those.
Property compliance: what we do not do yet
- We cover homes in England only. Properties in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland follow different rules, which KimonComply does not hold yet. Keep tracking those properties the way you do today.
- We do not track damp and mould hazards under Awaab's Law yet. That part is switched off for now. Keep recording damp and mould reports through your usual repairs process.
- We have no direct link to the government register. The compliance officer prepares your register pack, and you enter it on the register yourself.
- We do not find renters, check their references or set up tenancies. Your letting agent or your usual referencing service still does that.
- We do not cover commercial property. The property module is for homes you let. For shops, offices and other commercial buildings, keep your current arrangements.
